Sie ist auch auf den internationalen Fashion Shows unterwegs. Nach der Fashion Week in Schweden berichtet sie für Sie nun exklusiv von der Fashion Week in Norwegen und zwar aus Oslo.

Last week I made a quick trip to Oslo to visit the Norwegian Fashion Week. I was invited to see the fashion show of Norwegian designer Eva Emanuelsen and her brand Epilogue. The fashion week was in full force and the weather was cold, but my excitement and expectations were high, helping me to keep warm.

Edgy and modern: The Epilogue fashion show

The Epilogue fashion show took place in their studio and office space in central Oslo. The Norwegian fashion scene was gathered and the excitement was on top. The models entered the catwalk in leather skirts, mixed with tailored jackets and trousers, complete looks in leather with a top and skirt or, as one of my favorite looks, a leather jacket combined with a leather pencil skirt, all very timeless and classic but still edgy and modern. The collection is based on black, green and grey, where black is dominating. A mixture of fabrics like wool, leather, cashmere and gabardine were mixed together in symbiosis making the look a bit rougher, but at the same time elegant by using the classic garments. A minimalistic look with interesting cuts, very elegant and timeless, evoking a strong feminine feel.

Designer of the Year

Earlier that same week, Eva and Epilogue won the prestigious “Nåløyet – Designer of The Year” award by the Norwegian magazine Henne and this was the jury’s motivation: “Epilogue has a distinct common thread through the complete collection, it has an established production and the brand has a strong collection with a good quality, exciting cuts and details. With strong focus on fabrics, fit and exclusive details the collection is cohesive and well thought out.” As the winner of Nåløyet Eva receives a 150.000 NOK grant from “Innovation Norway” and advertising in Henne Magazine for a worth of 100.000 NOK. The possibility to do a design collaboration together with “Eurosko”, a sewing machine from Janome, and 1 year of use of products from L’Oreal. Not bad at all. And of course, the acknowledgement from the industry for her great work and feel for design.

Eva started her brand back in 2004 and has grown a good reputation in her home country Norway, and as the winner of Nåløyet 2013, her aim is to build up a strong market in Norway before hitting the international market. And I can’t wait for that to happen.
